MOBA and SANOVO Egg Carton Line Trial Checklist

Step 1

Before samples arrive

• Document machine brand, model, line speed, carton feed setup, closure setup, and case-pack method.
• Record current carton material, carton count, egg sizes, storage humidity, and known handling issues.
• Define pass/fail criteria before the trial so subjective impressions do not decide the result.

Step 2

During trial

• Observe denesting consistency, double-picks, jams, closure behavior, tab alignment, and lid recovery.
• Check cavity fit for target egg sizes, filled-carton stacking, case-pack handling, and operator feedback.
• Run enough cartons to see repeat behavior, not only the first successful samples.

Step 3

Environmental conditioning before line approval

Define the exposure method before comparing results so each exact carton specification and identified sample lot follows the same buyer-owned protocol.

• Record pack-house and storage temperature and relative-humidity ranges, exposure duration, and any dry or cold to warm or humid transition.
• Record whether samples are empty or filled, filled-stack height and dwell time, case or crate route, target line speed, and the exact sample lot and specification.
• Observe denesting, closure, deformation, compression, and breakage under those conditions, then apply buyer-defined pass/fail criteria and name the sign-off owner.
• Do not infer a universal threshold or material result. The buyer, appointed test owner, line owner, retailer, or applicable specification defines the method and acceptance limits.

Step 4

Transport container and route-to-shelf validation

Validate the exact retail-carton and transport-container combination through the downstream route that applies to the buyer program, rather than treating the carton line trial as complete at pack-out.

• Identify the retail carton format and specification, then record whether the outer route uses a one-way case, retailer-owned crate, pooled reusable plastic container (RPC), or another transport container.
• Record the container model and exact internal dimensions, carton orientation, cartons per layer and container, clearances, dividers, closure method, and pallet pattern.
• Document ventilation and cooling assumptions plus the actual pack-house, storage, transport, distribution-centre, and store conditions included in the trial.
• Observe end-of-line loading, conveyor or automation handling, palletizing, transport, distribution-centre handling, depalletizing, store replenishment, and whether cartons are removed from or displayed in the transport container.
• Name the retailer or packer approval owner, test sample or lot, pass/fail criteria, pilot owner, observed issues, corrective actions, rollout decision, and rollback route.
• For reusable systems, also record pool geography, asset availability and seasonal capacity, wash and sanitation evidence, sortation and return route, tracking, loss or damage ownership, participant training, and transition inventory. Keep these as buyer qualification fields; Evolo does not provide pooling, washing, asset tracking, or reverse logistics.

Step 5

After trial

• Record issues with photos, approximate frequency, machine settings, humidity, and speed.
• Separate carton-design issues from machine-setting issues before requesting changes.
• Confirm whether another sample run is needed before committing to bulk or container-volume production.

Step 6

When to revalidate

Use the approved specification and physical reference sample to decide whether a later production change needs renewed review.

• Check for changes to board or material, adhesive, coating or finish, ink or print route, dieline or tooling, process or equipment, production site, case pack, pallet, storage, or logistics route.
• Record the change notification and let the buyer define whether a new sample, line check, document review, retailer review, or external test is required.
• Keep final tolerances, revalidation scope, deviations, concessions, and repeat-order production release with the buyer and appointed reviewers.
